Hey everyone, I'll be moving to the Los Angeles area to teach 6th grade science at a private school this summer. Just wanted to say hi to everyone and try and get a feel for what trails I should hit first when I get in the end of July. What kind of tires do most people run? What are the best trails? This will be my first time riding out on the west coast as I grew up in Philly and now live in Tennessee so any tips and hints would be much appreciated. Thanks! Live Hard. Ride Hard.

Welcome to sunny So. Cal. July could be one of the hot month. But MTB still very popular. My question to you is what riding style you usually do? Since most of our trail are dry and loose you need a tire with good traction. I'm using panaracer fire xc tires on my bikes as a XC rider. Some riders use Kendas tires.
Let us know when you are in town and join us our weekend or weekdays rides.

Being from PA I am a bit of a rock fiend and love technical stuff. Currently I'm using a Specialized Eskar 2.3 up front and a Specialized The Captain 2.2 in the back and I recently converted them to tubeless.

seems like your tires are ok. Check Suicide and Rocky Peak trail (humming bird) are ideal with your riding style. For sure members have good trails will recommend also.
