GMR aka The Monroe Truck Trail (With Possible Shuttle) 7am-12:30pm

Here is the location we are meeting : 1044 Glendora Mountain Rd, Glendora, CA, 91741 (Google or Map quest for directions)

The trail is a mix of wide open, "flowy" fire road to over grown, technical and rocky single track. It is simple: go fast the ride is advanced, go slow to reasonably paced the trail is beginner to intermediate. Yes the trail is safe for beginners. If you have never ridden a mountain bike before, we will set you up with a buddy to ride down. There are several options to GMR: the main road, the Big Dalton cut-off and what I call the "Go" option.

All options start at the intersection of Glendora Mountain Road and the Monroe Truck Trail. After a few miles of skimming the ridge-line, the trail gives way from wide fire road to 'sinuousy' single-track and 'dives' into the canyon. The trail twists and turns throws rocks at you and is generally what we've come to expect of the San Gabriels. . .

Difficulty:Advanced - Beginner
Trail type :Fire Road to Single Track to Rock Gardens
Logistics :Shuttle
Distance:5.9 miles
Altitude Change: ~ 2,426 ft

Gear:Anything from a well maintained hybrid to a 40lbs downhill machine will do. Dual shocked X/Cty to All-Mountain bikes will do the best as there is some climbing (~100 yards, 100' elevation gain easy to accomplish in the middle chain-ring). Wear long pants and shin guards as my scratched up and 'poison oaked' legs will tell you. If you have the other pads and the full-face bring 'em. I still wear clip-ins and get laughed at. But it is a mixed bag of riding. Go with what you are comfortable with.

Details:The shuttle will be there if there is enough interest,He will start at (First Run) 7am-12:30pm for $20.He can carry about 15 passengers and 15 bikes per trip. After the shuttle we can work out our own shuttling for those who want to continue a few more rides
