Johnsons-Hummingbird-Rocky Peak
I know there's a cool ride happening at the San Juan Trail. But just in case you can't make it to that one, we're doing a local ride at the Chatsworth/Simi Valley area.
Johnsons Motorway is a technical singletrack. Very rocky in some parts
but not too steep. We'll climb this trail to Rocky Peak. Rocky Peak is
mostly fire road but also rocky and steep in some sections. We'll then
take Hummingbird down to Kuehner. Hummingbird is a rocky singletrack
with some tight switchbacks. At the bottom is Kuehner St.. We'll then
do some street riding to get to the Rocky Peak trailhead which we will
then take back to Johnsons.
This is an intermediate to advanced
ride. From the parking to top of Johnsons Motorway (Rocky Peak) - 3.1
miles. From Johnsons to top of Hummingbird - 2.4 miles. Down
Hummingbird to Kuehner is 1.9 miles. Kuehner to Rocky Peak - 3.2 miles.
Up Rocky Peak to top of Johnsons - 3 miles. Total ride is about 16.7
miles. I estimate it will probably take about 4 hours including breaks.
