-go up Mt Wilson Toll Road, we will see how far we can go up but will try to get all the way up to Mt Wilson.
-Mt Wilson Toll Road is all fire road & approximately 9 miles from the gate to top of Mt Wilson
-Per local Park Ranger, the Mt Wilson Toll Road gate is closed indefinitely, there's another entrance that i have not tried, we'll find out on Sat if its doable. If not, we will come up with a last minute plan B.
-we will see which route we are taking going back, either backtrack or take Mt Wilson Trail (for Mt Wilson Trail info, check this post on12 Dec 2010) then take surface street to get back to the cars
-The Mt Wilson Toll Road trail starts at 2260 Pinecrest drive.
-Parking is not permitted here during the weekends and is limited to 2 hours on weekdays. Continue to the next intersection (Crescent Drive) where there is ample parking.
-Just FYI: There's water, restrooms, and picnic areas at Henninger flats and atop Mt. Wilson.
-cam & accu weather on top of Mt Wilson http://obs.astro.ucla.edu/towercam.htm, below the cam view is the weather info

UPDATE: 1/8/2011
-The Mt Wilson Toll Road gate is now open, the landslide caused by previous heavy rain were all cleared
-Did not bring enough water today, was hoping to get refill from top of Mt Wilson's faucet but the gate to get to it is closed from Dec 1 to Mar 31 so if ur planning to head up, bring enough drinks. The one in Henninger, I read somewhere that it's not potable one
-It was great ride today, steep climbs were seemed endless, its a great workout
-Snowed sections were a nice playground, had fun riding on it

This is an open event. Anyone can join and invite others. Guests are allowed to bring friends to this event.

Don't forget about the big tree that fell blocking the fire road at about 6 miles up, you have to carry your bike and go over or under the tree..
